 Welcome to our past

We are very proud of the fact that we have a rich and varied history and in the week of the 13th to the 17th October 2008 the school celebrated its 300th anniversary.  The children experienced a range of activities designed to help them understand what it was like for children in the past, including having visits by a number of guests who came into work with them on looking at artefacts, log books and a whole host of other things.  The week culminated in an evening event which involved museum exhibits in the hall, classes demonstrating their work to parents, a presentation by Year 5/6 children on the history of the school as well as mulled wine, nibbles and a fireworks display.

It was a fantastic week which involved a great many people.  Thanks to everybody who helped.

There will soon be a photo gallery of our 300th Anniversay week.  Which you will be able to access by clicking on the picture to the left. If you have any photos of the week or just the Friday evening that you think we could use then feel free to pop into school.
 A Christian and Useful Education

Canon John Ayers, who has a long connection with our school (including being its deputy head) spent time in school talking to adults about the history of our school.  He also came into classes to entertain the children with tales of the past and demonstrations of how education used to be.

If you would like to read a short version of John's history of the school then click the picture above.
